Welcome to current and prospective international students at New Era Institute.

We have a team of experienced Student Support Officers.

We are able to service students in all aspect of student life. The Student Support Officers are there from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm – Monday to Friday to discuss and support students with many concerns such as support in finding accommodation, work experience, learning pathways and possible Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) opportunities, provision for special learning needs, education and career counselling.

We also provide the following services for students:

  • Learning and support sessions
  • Student ID cards
  • Overseas Student Health Cover information 
  • Assistance to students applying for a Tax File Number
  • Help with accommodation and general inquiries
  • Student social events and activities

Social activities

  • Full day excursions
  • Weekend trips out of Sydney
  • Sport activities

Language, Literacy  and Numeracy (LLN) Support sessions (click here)

Assistance is available for language, literacy (understanding the course material) and numeracy for individuals and small groups from the Student Support officer. Please speak to our Student Services Officer at reception to book an appointment for student support.

Student Counselling 

At New Era Institute, our professional student support officer offers a confidential and free counselling support to all students. 

We can also help you if you need support regarding:

  • Life in Australia
  • Personal relationships
  • Academic studies 
  • Work
  • Finance
  • Sickness

All information about your sessions with us are private and confidential.  New Era Institute will not disclose the details of your counselling and student support sessions to any third party without your permission unless the situation is serious and New Era Institute is required to do so by Australian law.
